Want to reduce that "grabbable gut"? Tackle that "toxic fat"? Soon, it'll be even easier to reach your health goals, with HBF's popular outdoor fitness classes set to return from September 3 until October 27.

"The LiveLighter campaign is thrilled to present these sessions, which provide a fantastic opportunity for Western Australians to increase their physical activity," said Maurice Swanson, CEO of the Heart Foundation (WA Division).

"Regular physical activity, teamed with healthy eating , can help us all achieve and maintain a healthy weight. That, in turn, can reduce our risk of developing serious diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers," he continued.

The sessions are sponsored by Healthway and will promote the new LiveLighter brand.

"This is the first time Healthway has used the LiveLighter brand in a sponsorship. It's a very important message and one we'll be using again in the future to help raise awareness about this serious public health issue," said Dr Rosanna Capolingua, Chair of Healthway.

"More than 66% of WA adults are overweight or obese – and that figure is growing. We're committed to educating Western Australians about the risks associated with being an unhealthy weight, while supporting them to make healthy changes in their every day lives."

HBF Managing Director Rob Bransby, said "As a not-for-profit health fund, around 40% of the benefits we pay are for chronic disease. Much of this cost could be reduced by some relatively simple lifestyle changes – such as exercising regularly."

"With LiveLighter partnering, we can now offer sessions in regional areas too."

Classes will be held throughout WA in a number of city, suburban and regional locations. All are welcome, with classes catering for all fitness levels. Even better, the sessions are free for HBF members and only $10 for non-members.
