Perfect poached eggs in 4 simple steps!


  • 1 egg
  • water


  1. Add water to the frying pan until it is about 2.5cm deep.
  2. Place the pan over high heat and bring the water to the boil. As soon as the water boils, reduce the heat to a simmer (you will only see little bubbles form on the bottom and sides of pan).
  3. Carefully break the egg into the water. As soon as the egg hits the water, start a kitchen timer for 6 minutes.
  4. Gently remove the egg with a large spoon and let it drain on kitchen paper before serving.

Healthy tip!

Simple switch idea: try reduced-fat milk, cheese and yoghurt.
